The most important laws and norms that the Qatari visitor must observe in Turkmenistan

• A visitor must have an invitation from an institution based in Turkmenistan or a pre-approved visa before approaching Ashgabat international airport.
• A visitor must carry his/her documents (passport valid for more than 6 months and a copy of the letter of the State Migration Services of Turkmenistan approving the issue of entry visa at the airport if a pre-approved visa is not stamped on the passport of the visitor).
• While in Turkmenistan, the visitor must keep a copy of his/her passport and the entry visa.
• The visitor must register at the State Migration Service within 3 days from the date of entry to avoid sustaining a fine for violating this rule.
• The foreign currency allowed for circulation is the US dollar, in which the visitor can bring to Turkmenistan the maximum amount of 10 thousand.
• Visitors must respect all other current laws of the country alongside with the traditions and norms of the conservative Turkmen society.
• Not to bring to the country cigarettes as smoking is prohibited in Turkmenistan except in (some special places).
• Not to take pictures without a pre permission from competent authorities in Turkmenistan.
